Good Day to you!

Welcome to VanGogh’s Beard.

When I was a wee lad, all I wanted to do was draw.
Mostly cartoons, but not exclusively. (My arrogant young self thought that an artist shouldn’t be constrained to a single discipline.)
Well, as I grew into a young man I slowly began to not draw.
Despite loving it, I was told all too often, “You’ll never make anything of yourself.” or “Why would you waste your time doing that?” The fool that I was, I believed them.

Now I fix computers for a living.
I answer the same user questions over and over and over.
AFAIK, every windows PC in the world is broken because every one I see, is.
Don’t get me wrong, I actually really like computers.
They’re my secondary passion, so, you know, it’s not all bad.

But, my god do most users hate computers.
And there, is where in, the soul crushing-ness of my career lies.
Every user feels that they need to vent their un-sweetend anger through me. Each manager/boss/owner cannot understand why cleaning malware from their PentiumIV should, “..take so god damed long on that new computer I bought 5 years ago!”
I have literally told business owners, “If computers are such a tax on your operations, stop using them.”
Blank stares are all I get back.

I miss creating.
Over the years I have tried to get back into art with little success. Lack of room, lack of time, lack of materials.
Then the iPad came out.
I had looked at tablet PCs, but they were either too expensive or too heavy. I have a wacom tablet, but most days I am lucky to have fits of minutes to myself. Not near enough time to get anything done. With my iPad, I can cary it with me most anywhere I go. When I have that 15 mins, I can whip it out and have a go at drawing.

All of that output and no where to put it.
Thus this site.

I don’t expect to change my career or become a well known artist.
I just wanted to share what I’ve done with you.
Share a passion that has been missing from my life for far to long.

Thanks for having a look.

End of line.
